During my time in North Carolina, I had the pleasure of getting to know Winston, a family friend and an artist living on the beach of Kittyhawk. After seeing his unique studio in a shed attached to his home, I asked if it would be okay for me to photograph him working. He happily obliged and I was able to document some of the new things in his studio that he has collected from the beach included the skulls of beach horses, dolphins and sea turtles, an assortment of shells, driftwood and sea glass. Most of Winston's work is now inspired by the sea and seeing his studio, it's easy to see where that inspiration comes from. Enjoy!
